And the loser is...

REXONA!!!

By a country mile!

Yes, my award to
Rexona; Absolute Protection for Men, 24 Hour Anti-Perspirant Deodorant is...
TOTAL FAIL!!!

I do have to give a special award to their advertising department; being able to claim with a straight face that they give 24 hour protection when the reality in Singapore's humidity is...
TEN MINUTES!!!!!

Also a big FAIL for Nivea; their 24 hour protection is good for just 1 hour.

Other fails are; Imperial Leather and Lynx.
But I haven't pegged down how long they actually do work for yet.

The best that I have found so far is Mennen Speed Stick by Colgate-Palmolive; although it comes nowhere near the "24/7 non-stop protection" that is claimed for it, I do think that I usually get about three hours from it.

Had a wonderful time at the beach on Sunday with a heap of beautiful women and girls; three women and about seven girls at one time. Before you jump to any conclusions they started at about six or seven years old. Jazreel's idea, but then she hasn't spoken to me since and I have sent her two txts; so what's with that?

I did a card reading recently, three questions, you're 'allowed' to ask a maximum of three questions, otherwise the readings just start getting vague and contradictory, usually I only ask two, I believe that three is pushing it, but the first question was about whether I would find a good job in time and the answer was more spiritually oriented. Very nice, but NOT what I was after at this time, thank you very much! So I re-asked that one with a bit more clarity. Reassuring answer, so the man upstairs that is responsible for me being here (in SG, not here as in alive) is saying that he is sorting that one out (something about being wary of giving up to early in finding it and not taking it too easy when I have it though).

Naturally left with one question to ask I asked about Jazreel. As always it came back very strongly; ten of cups in the immediate future. And now the cold shoulder? Sometimes she claims that she doesn't get my calls or txts; I don't see how, but that's her position. Maybe with Chinese New Year around the corner she is busy, but surely a reply txt is not too much to ask?

I got a reply txt from Marilyn even though she said that she would be busy for the next week or so with CNY.

Incidentally Jazreel and Marilyn met last week. I am pretty sure that each could figure out that the other was potentially something in my future. And both were extra communicative for the few days after. So maybe it is just CNY.

I have a friend dropping in this weekend on a stop-over from Adelaide to KL where he is attending a conference. He has a habit of being arrested for speaking his mind; what he says is true, but speaking the truth can be against the law. We are waiting to see if he gets arrested at Changi as there is a European warrant out for him. He got pulled off a plane at London during a transit and put in gaol for nearly two months whilst the validity of the warrant was argued in court. In the end the English justice system decided that it did not want to honour the European warrant. And also given that Australia ignores it as well I am expecting Singapore not to pay it any heed either. I will be meeting him at the airport in the early evening and it will be interesting to see whether I will be bringing him home or contacting the high commission.

Anyhow, I have gotten hold of a bed for him to sleep in. I figured that as he is older than me that it was reasonable. I have been sleeping on an air mattress on the floor, but I thought that was a little unfair on guests. Which is where the Marilyn and Jazreel meeting came in; as Jazreel helped me to collect a bed and mattress that Marilyn has given me.

Also, another important thing! One of the stalls in the food court downstairs has changed to vegetarian! At last! There were no pure vegie stalls before - there was one guy that was only open for a couple of hours in the morning, but I have never seen him there so he doesn't count. I can get a full plate for $2.00! $2.50 if I ask for lots of fancy little things. And the lime juices from the refreshment stand are only $1.20, but I do need two of them since they are half full of ice. But one full plate and a drink can be gotten for $3.20! And honestly, the food is as good as most restaurants that I would pay $50 for a meal. Maybe it is better at restaurants at which I would pay $100 for each meal, but thirty times better? I don't think so. Without any question this is definitely a part of Singapore that I really love.

Back Online

I have moved house!

(Yes, I know, it is a flat/unit/apartment, not a 'house'.)

I have left the flat on Jelan Besar next to Little India and now am in an HDB next to East Coast Park, about four bus stops from Parkway Parade shopping centre.
("bust stops"? so much for spell checkr)

Been here for a few days, but just got a SingTel internet dongle for my laptop. It has disconnected about three times in the first five minutes, but we will see how it settles in.

So, the new flat; it is great - yes it is still a bit noisy, but at least not from neighbours arguing at three in the morning, more just from traffic etc., and that because I have the windows open. That, in turn, is 'cos the aircon doesn't work! A major serious problem that will be my central topic of discussion when the landlady is here tomorrow to accompany a plumber. Other than that it is clean and in very good condition, one security screen won't lock and the windows at the back don't have blinds, but those will get sorted out somehow or other.

I have no furniture, that is a bit uncomfortable at times, but I don't want to spend too much until I get my first contract - which I am not expecting to happen until after Chinese New Year, i.e. in February.

So this is just a little post to let you know that I haven't forgotten you.
